Undergraduates focus their education within two main department divisions:

Department of Engineering & Technology Education:

BS Engineering & Technology Education:

Technology Education prepares individuals to teach technology education in grades 6-12. This major consists of courses in the following areas: communication; manufacturing; energy, power, transportation; related professional; and related technical. A majority of these courses consists of hands-on experiences in laboratory settings. Many laboratory activities will have a design emphasis that requires creative problem solving skills. In addition, there are a series of teacher preparation courses that lead to a secondary education certification. For more information, click here.

BS Trade and Technical Education:

This major prepares and licenses graduates to teach trade and technical subjects in high schools and colleges. People pursuing this degree are expected to have technical skills at the journeyman level and have at least two years of work experience in their teaching specialization. Aviation Technology:

BS Aviation Technology - Professional Pilot:

The Professional Pilot Program at Utah State University is designed to prepare pilots for careers in the aviation industry. Upon graduating from the program, students will have earned a Bachelors degree in Aviation Technology-Professional Pilot as well as the following flight ratings: Private Pilot Certificate, Instrument Rating, Commercial Certificate, Multi-Engine Certificate, Certified Flight Instructor Certificate (CFI), Certified Flight Instrument Instructor Rating (CFII). BS Aviation Technology - Maintenance Management:

This is a Bachelor of Science degree that includes the course work necessary to obtain the Federal Aviation Administration Airframe and Powerplant licenses. Students may exit to the workplace after earning the A&P or they may remain to complete requirements for the Bachelor of Science degree and become a manager of aviation maintenance.
